   No – that is NOT the right way to pick up a cat. Mother cats pick up SMALL kittens by grabbing them fully around the neck down the sides, including the scruff. That technique should never be used on a larger cat (and humans shouldn’t try picking up kittens that way either).

   That IS the correct ay to pick up a cat.I am a dog and cat groomer. We have to handle some of the cats that way in order to get them groomed. There is no harm done to them. They have a scruff at all ages (unless they are seriously overweight)I don’t agree with her handling that kitten that way however. And I really wish she would just crawl into a cave and disappear. I am so sick of her and her skanky family. She’s a huge TWIT!!!

   Picking up a cat this way is okay as long as you know what you’re doing. You shouldn’t attempt it unless you’re sure you know how. And from this angle, the way she’s holding the cat looks correct.

    I dont care if this is the “correct” way to hold a cat. She is not a vet, groomer or animal control officer so she should leave the cat alone if she isnt comfortable holding it in a more loving way.

    ok she is a horrible person. Wearing fur, and not doing a single thing with all her money and notoriety to draw attention to a cause; child hungry, poverty, african aids, seal hunting.

    but i pick up my cat like this all the time and it doesn’t seem to bother him the least. I think people are reaching to find an excuse to hate on her.

    There is a difference between a moment handling a cat this way, and osing for a picture. It paralyzes the animal temporarily, and should not be done for very long, especially by anyone who doesn’t have proper training. But that’s pretty much her whole life.
